Welcome to the Woburn Lions Academy Website!

Woburn Lions are a large and established youth football club based in Woburn, Beds. We welcome all children from anywhere, but for the past 33 years we have been teaching children from; Woburn and the surrounding villages; Woburn Sands; Aspley Guise; The Brickhills; and the South East of Milton Keynes. It is no exaggeration to say that we have many children whose parents and grandparents played in the Woburn teams.

The club is affiliated to, and work closely with, the Bedfordshire F.A. and were one of the first in the area to achieve F.A. Charter Standard status - the 'Blue Ribbon' of youth football quality marks. We are currently working towards achieving the next level of quality accreditation - the coveted F.A. 'Development Club' status.

All our coaches, managers and officers are volunteers.

We keep subscriptions as low as possible while raising additional funds through sponsorship and events. Every penny we get is spent on youth football.

We have some 24 teams ranging from Under 7 to 17, both boys and girls (we have 7 girls-only teams - The Woburn Lionesses) and, while we are competitive and successful, we are firmly based in the belief that children learn more about football if it's enjoyable, fun, fair, and SAFE! 

Every squad has a Woburn Volunteer F.A. Qualified team coach and all officers, managers and coaches are CRB checked. We work closely with MKDons SET professional coaches - all squads have their own MKDons professional coach working with the Woburn Coach to give the children the highest standard of football coaching available in the area.

Our home ground is at Crawley Road, Woburn, although we also play at Aspley Guise Common and Wavendon Gate School. Winter training is based on the Powerleague 5th Generation Astroturf facility at Walton High School - universally recognised as the best facility of it's type in the area.

Every year we host a 'Summer School' for children aged five and six (The Cubs) which is a gentle and fun introduction to 'The Beautiful Game', and In June we hold the largest youth tournaments in the area - the Woburn 'Super Sixes' and 'Lionesses' tournaments.

The Academy is one of the largest and is the longest established in the area, taking an active role in all the local leagues and competitions. Throughout our history we have been at the forefront of local football development.
